The process has taken over a year, and I have been taking this test for a little under a year. But now, I can finally say I have passed the CPA exam. Even though the Associate Head of the Accounting department said I would not pass the exam, I have proven him wrong. I did not believe his blasphemy for one second. I find it ironical that an educators unmotivating words pushed me a little harder to pass the exam as soon as possible. Without any doubt I can say I studied for this exam more than anything else in my life. Combined with work and living in New York City it was difficult to find times to study, yet I managed. I had to sacrifice some nights out but in the end it was all worth it. Even though I have a degree in accounting I feel passing this exam validates it all. The monkey is not off my back, and its time to have a little fun. The celebration will start here in Austin tonight on 6th St.
The CPA Exam has been one of the most grueling processes I ever engaged myself in. Yesterday, I took the last part of my exam, hopefully for the last time. I have faith that I passed and I am anticipating my final score. The test is four parts and takes fourteen hours to complete. However, it has taken me almost a year to study and take all of the parts. The average score on the exam is failing, and less than 10% of the people who take the exam pass all four parts their first time. To all the readers of this blog, please pray that I passed.
I have been in the process of taking the CPA Exam for almost a year now. Today I received official word from NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) that I passed the audit portion of the exam. This is not as big of a momentous occasion as it could be because I have still have one more part of the exam to pass. I can not wait for this exam to finally be over and I hope I can find all the time I need to study over the summer. But, the reason I am so excited is because it has taken over a month to receive the score, and I have friends who took the exam after me but received their score before me. It made me a little more anxious than usual. I began looking for the confirmation papers that I was given after taking the exam and instructed to hold on to until I received my score in case there were complications. After scouring through my room I came to the realization that I had lost the paper and I may be in a battle with the state board about my score. However, before I called them today to see the status I decided to check my score online one last time. Not only did I find out that my score was finally processed, but I found out I had passed. Just another monkey off my back.
